Jeong Hwan Park made it to the semi-finals!

 

 

On March 31, Jeong Hwan Park(9P) won against Zhou Rui Yang(5P) in the quarterfinals of the 3rd BC Card World Championships, in 184 moves, by resignation.

 

The opening of the game was unfavorable to Jeong Hwan Park. However, Jeong Hwan Park suceeded to draw a mitake(B71,W72 exchange) from Zhou Rui Yang and he kept leading the game from finish after it.

 

 

As a result of this win, Jeong Hwan Park has made it to the semi-finals of the world tournaments for 2 years in a row. He was semifinals of BC Card Cup and SAMSUNG Cup last year but he never made it to the final. Jeong Hwan Park will have a semifinal match against Chen Yaoye next month.

 

The 3rd BC Card Word Championships is sponsored by BC Card and top prize is 300,000,000won(nearly $180,000). The defending champion is Se-dol Lee.
